Straight Slides:
Long or short, loose or narrow – every musician has his own idea of his personal slide. Your slide is your tool, it should fit to you like the individuality of your music. That’s our devotion and we try to realize every wish.
Straight Slide ‚Special‘:
Sometimes you can take a classic and develop it to something new. So it happened that we thought of a new variant of a straight slide which gives more grip at the finger tip. Additionally we get more sound and sustain out of the thickening at the finger tip.
Conical Slides:
The inner diameter stays even – only the outer diameter thins down. This shape makes it easier to play single notes on the lower strings.
Advantages: weight reduction and gaining a ‘fuller’ sound by thicker material.
Double conical Slide:
Our counterpart to a glas bottleneck. The inner and outer diameter of this slide widen in fingertip direction.Fits to musicians needing a lot of space at their fingertips or are used to it.
Inside conical Slide ‘reverse style’:
Outside straight – inside conical. The idea behind is to lighten a straight slide. On the other the finger is guided by the conical shape – at the fingertip the thickness of the material is still plenty for an optimal sound.
Double conical Slide ‚reverse style‘:
This contrariwise conical slide makes it possible to gain high material thickness at the fingertip and at the same time a relative light weight. Moreover the finger gets support in the slide.
Round-ended Slide ‚nose-tip Style‘:
Sometimes a rounded edge is not enough. Therefore we offer the ‘Nose Tip Slide’ which is closed at one end.
Concave Slides:
For guitars with curved fretboards. You can choose between three radii: 9.5” (strongly curved fretboard), 12” (medium curved fretboard) or 16” (slightly curved fretboard).
We produce and polish our slides manually, so deviations in dimensions are possible. To avoid scratches all our slides will be sent in a ‘Mojo Bag’.
Bullet:
A classical bullet at first glance. However we insert a core of tonewood to reduce weight. Everything is possible, whether light or heavy, long, or short , thick or thin.
Tonebar ‚Peter’s One‘:
This hybridbar combines the good things of two worlds: the handle of a steelbar and the ‘nosetip’ of a bullet. Together with Peter Funk we developed the ‘Peter’s one”.
Together with Peter Funk we developed the ‘Peter’s one”. Because of the ‘nosetip’ this steelbar is longer – which is compensated by the pronounced ‘thumbhole’. In addition this steelbar has a thick wooden core to reduce more weight. We use our special bronze to gain a wonderful warm and round sound for the ‘Peter’s one’. This shape offers interesting new possibilities in playing. Because of the round ‘nose’ you are now able to play clean intonated double-stops including the upper and lower neighboring open strings.

A tonebare made from stainless Damascus steel:
Probably the most unusual tone bar world wide: made of rustproof Damascus of best quality.
This most extravagant tonebar evolved from the idea to get a different approach to material like steel or stainless steel, which we usually don’t have in our stock and to create a most unique highlight.
Damascus or damask steel is a material known for thousands of years and its extraordinary production makes up the charm : the interweaving of layers of steel. We use rustproof Swedish Damascus steel of best quality. Seeing the fine marbling you get an idea of the quality and the costly making. In addition you can see the laborious working out the texture: hour by hour of manually grinding. The grand finale : Etching for making visible the marbling.
Dave Goodman Special Slide:
In cooperation with Dave Goodman this straight slide was created. On first glance it is simple what it is: a Workinghorse.

Homesick Mac’s Barry Slide:
This slide is for sure one of our most exceptional slides. Dragan ‘Homesick Mac’ Ruzic had the idea of a Slide fitting to his baritone guitar and adaptive to is glass bottleneck. So we designed a heavy double conical Slide.

Andy Martin Special Slide:
For Andy Martin, who lives in Thailand and plays the blues we developed a conical ‘tip nose slide’ . The advantages of the ‘tip nose’ go together perfectly with those of a conical slide.

Andy about his Slide:
“As a blues player for many years I had long been seeking a slide especially suited to my playing style, which is a combination of Piedmont picking and slide guitar. It had to have the beautiful mellow sustain of German silver and a structure that would work well with my resophonic guitars and also my lighter-strung Gibsons. I wanted a weighted slide but not simply a weighted bullet tip. What I was seeking was a design that would provide equal slide weight to all the strings,high to low,without any great increase in finger pressure. I also wanted a slide long enough to reach high notes on all strings over the guitar body and still play cleanly. From my rough ideas, Jan and his father developed a slide with a graduated angled wall thickness, from a light 1mm base to a much thicker tip, which performs exactly as I had hoped. Once again, Jan and his father demonstrated their remarkable skills with the creation of this beautifully balanced slide.“
Pascal Mesnier Special Bullet:
We realized this bullet for Pascal Mesnier, the excellent french blues-and hawaii guitarist. It fits perfectly to Pascal’s needs of his “vintage sound”.

Pascal Mesnier about his Bullet:
„I was looking for a long time for a „bullet“ bar with the tonal characteristic of those from the past.
I have studied the old Hawaiian masters for a while, and as a vintage „National“ tricone Hawaiian player, always referred to that long and soft sustain they had in their play and touch.
They never played with an heavy bar, but the sustain was rather coming from the „special“ alloy of their tone bar.
In a great collaboration with Jan Simon, I asked for an optimal weight for a comfortable and better grip, a warmer alloy than stainless steel, and a recessed end of the bar to control my many „reverse slants“ (for a reverse slant, the thumb catches in the recessed end of the bar and pushes it forward). The result was done by the extraordinary skill of Jan and his father, and since I use this bar daily for sessions, gigs on the tricone, and also with my other electric lap steel.“
Dr. Slide Special Slide:
The first slide with 2 different edges. In cooperation with Dr. Slide, blues guitarist and Hermann Attenberger of ‘Fine Giutars & Equipment’ this short slide was created.

tailor-made to fit
Different materials – various sounds. It’s not only a piece of tube having no influence to the sound, as some knockers would suggest. Amongst other things the sound is strongly influenced by the material of the slide. The materials we use all have different tonal characters.
First an important point. All of our slides, bullets, and steels consist of solid material. This has two reasons, first we are able to realize nearly every wish of our customers, on the other side it has to do with the crystalline structure of the metal. Producing tubes will affect negatively the tonal character.
Special Bronze
Not a ‘normal brass’ slide. After a lot of tests we found a special alloy which prevailed over all other materials. It sounds warm, rich of details, rich of overtones, assertive, and has a wonderful sustain.
Phosphorbronze:
A very warm and characteristic low tone.
A full, middle-ranged tone with a good sustain.
Close to puristic.
German Silver:
A unique sound: the warmth of brass and the rich overtone of hard materials like glass or steel meet.
It sounds wonderfully even if having thin material, but nickel silver produces its optimal performance at a wall thickness over 3.5 mm: Sweetness joins in to the rich overtones which you cannot find anywhere else a sensation!
German Silver (Nickel Silver) contains nickel and lead.
German Silver (Nickel Silver) is not very advisable for nickel allergics.
The intensity of the sound is depending on the material thickness. The more mass concerning the material thickness the fuller the sound.
Furthermore we offer various profiled edges:
the so-called ‘flat cut’
a hard edge optimized for ‘pull offs’. The edge is rounded only slightly to avoid sharp burrs.

It can become an obsession to find a fitting and at the same time good slide. Out of this motion the idea emerged to produce tailor-made and effortable slides by ourselves. My father and I started to experiment with a diversity of materials and to refine our techniques. Soon our first hand made slides arouse. New ideas come again and again and so the future of sure will stay exciting!
